I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome you back for the 2007-2008 school year. This year promises to be one of excitement and challenge as we take bold and deliberate steps to continue the excellence at Henry H. Filer Middle School by celebrating our past accomplishments and preparing for our future challenges. It is my intent, as we work together, to continue to make our school a place where pride is prevalent.

This year will focus on:

• Reading and Writing across the curriculum
• Mathematic enhancement for all students
• The continued implementation of our School Improvement Plan
• A school wide instructional focus for our core subject areas
• A student incentive based program that promotes high academic achievement and a safe and orderly environment
• The continuous creation of an atmosphere that is conducive for learning

As Principal, I look forward to facing the challenges set upon us for this 2007-2008 school year. Together, anything is possible.
